Ross Hood has over thirty-five years of experience in advising other lawyers and businesspeople on their needs.  

Pragmatic, persuasive, problem-solving and persistent, he is a creative thinker and brings a wealth of knowledge to every situation…. and he is happy to share his thoughts and his wisdom in helping his clients.  

In his time as a Corporate Partner, Ross handled thousands of business issues and now brings a wealth of experience to bear on any problem, drawing upon his expertise across many branches of the law. He is known for his left-field thinking and clear, constructive and creative approach.

Ross earned his stripes as a young lawyer while gaining invaluable experience with top Scottish firms Brodies, Bird Semple, McGrigor Donald and Dickson Minto before branching out in his own firm Hood Dunlop, which he ran for seven years, latterly from his office in Edinburgh’s Charlotte Square.

Head-hunted by Scottish firm Morisons during the late 1990’s, he reached the top of his profession in Corporate Practice as their Senior Partner in Corporate Law, before leaving to concentrate on providing a more focussed, advisory service to a smaller number of businesses.
